A crafty day ...

Being as Brian can't go too far without his foot swelling it was a great chance for me to have a crafty day today ... so I've tried something very different. I've always used sealed card to paint with as the wax doesn't absorb into the card and you have greater control over what you are doing .. I think?!? Anyway today I have tried painting on some Prisma cardstock and this is my first attempt. You do have some control of the wax before it's absorbed into the card but not as much as when you paint on sealed card. In real life it looks a bit like an oil painting and I like the effects.

Note to self - try encaustic on more surfaces!

I also started & finished 12 recipe cards for a recipe swap I'm in - using the Pumpkin, Cashew & Philly salad .. yummo!
Finally I've made a start on my design for the tags for Scrapboxx Retreat I am going on in March ... oh, so can't wait!! 2 whole days of inspiration from some very talented ladies in Australia - that has got to be good in itself! There are 70 craft-a-holics attending this year so there will be much inspiration from so many people ... now less than 7 weeks to go!

4.00pm ... time to find something for dinner - which is so hard when you are trying to work around SO many meats & vegetables!!!

Reach high & touch the stars .......... Chelle
