Toodyay Bushfires
Went for a drive on the weekend and ended up out at Toodyay so we took a drive through the area that the fire burnt through some 7 weeks ago. Wow, I have to say it was very humbling and really makes you thankful for what you have. The fire fighters whether they be paid, volunteer or simply those protecting their own homes did an awesome job for as many houses that were lost (38) I would have to say that 2-3 times as many were saved! The fire's intensity is easily seen in what is left or not left and this area will soon face a new challenge with errosion on the now unprotected steep, undulating ground.
